COVID-19 Update: Message for Our Valued Current Clients and Future Clients
To Our Valued Current and Future Clients:
First and foremost, we truly hope that this message finds you and your family safe and healthy.
We at Sakamoto & Ruelas, APC, like the rest of the greater public, have been closely following the daily developments regarding the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. We wanted to provide you with some information regarding our firm and the steps our office is taking to protect and serve you during these unprecedented times.
With respect to the question of whether Sakamoto & Ruelas, APC, will remain open for business and continue to provide services to our clients, the emphatic answer is “yes“.
We are still handling the majority of our meetings and consultations via telephone conference or Zoom video conference for the health and safety of our clients and staff. We are committed to providing uninterrupted service to our clients and believe telephonic and virtual conferences are not only be beneficial for health purposes, but also convenient for many of our clients.
However, we have re-opened our physical offices as of June 12, 2020 for limited in-person meetings by appointment only. Meetings are typically held outdoors. All employees and clients are required to wear face coverings at all times while meeting. We screen clients for Covid-19 risk prior to meeting and ask to reschedule if there are any signs of illness or being in contact with an ill person. We are also practicing social distancing during meetings and maintain at least a 6-foot distance between clients and the attorneys. We are committed to keeping a clean work environment, have installed a sneeze guard in our Buena Park reception area, and have increased the frequency of sanitizing our “high-touch” office areas.
We are evaluating these plans on a daily basis and making any modifications as needed. We have put in place CDC recommended actions, as well as the orders of the California State Governor, to keep our employees safe so they can continue to assist our clients.
As for our cases that are currently open and are in a Court setting, the local courts are the best source of information daily about the steps they are taking to postpone cases. As of this writing, some courts have re-opened on a virtual basis after closing in March, however many of our hearings have been postponed or continued to a later date by the Court. We, as Attorneys, have no control over these court cases and hearing dates. Unless granted some relief by the court, any court deadlines must be followed. Serious penalties can result for not following court deadlines. We will communicate with each client the information we have regarding the court schedules in their case. Luckily, many of our Court appearances, if necessary, can be made telephonically.
We promise to continue to serve you in the best possible manner under these circumstances. We will keep you apprised of any changes we make. Thank you for your continued support of our law firm. Please do not hesitate to call our office at (714) 994-4900 if you have any questions.
